November of 2003 was a very exciting time for my family. My husband and I were expecting our third child, we'd purchased a lot upon which to build a home, and construction needed to get underway quickly, as we were outgrowing our present home.

We'd asked many people about contractors. When we began exploring the idea of building a house on our farm in Jessamine County, Mitch Canup’s name kept coming up time and time again. I can’t recall the number of people who (unprompted) recommended Mitch as a builder, but surely must have been in the teens. My wife and I had seen his work in 2003 during the Grand Tour of Homes and were extremely impressed. Once I finally met with Mitch, I could see why he came so highly recommended. He’s very easy to talk with, conveys immense confidence, he’s exceptionally honest, and has a genuine passion for his work.

The building process was actually quite enjoyable. Not once did we second guess our decision to have Mitch build our house. All the sub-contractors were very professional and the quality of their work was held to Mitch’s high standards. We met regularly to discuss the budget and to ensure things were in alignment with our expectations. When the move-in date arrived, we couldn’t have been more delighted with the outcome. It feels good to be so proud of our home and we have Mitch to thank.
